As some of you may know, I've been a member of Influenster since earlier this year, and I qualified for their Spring Vox Box. (For a more detailed description of what Influenster is, see my Palmolive review) I just got my Vox Box in the mail today, and I was super excited to see what it contained! One of the items, which I'm reviewing in this post, was the Schwarzkopf Professional OSiS+ Dust It hair product. The Dust It is "a multi purpose mattifying powder that adds incredible root lift, texture, and control. Perfect for creating thicker, fuller-looking hair." As someone with rather limp hair, I was anxious to try this product out since I'm always looking for a good product to help boost my hair volume.
In the last couple of years, dry shampoos have made a great debut, and beauty gurus from all over are always recommending them and using them to great advantage. I have yet to try one myself, but this Dust It is supposed to work partly as a dry shampoo! Let's see if it really works as one.First off, the benefits. These benefits, as provided by the company include:
- Incredible root lift
- Light-weight powder to texturize
- Soft matte effect
- Control & separation
- Long lasting hold & texture
- Versatile control effect: the more you apply the more control you get
I must say I was quite surprised by how amazing this product was. It worked almost exactly as it claims, and I'll definitely be using this quite a bit in the future. The bottle's dispenser almost looks like one you'd find on a baby powder bottle, and I've never been good around baby powder so I wasn't sure how well this was going to go during the application process. After one messy attempt, I got it right, and I somehow managed to properly apply the product to my hair. Voila! I had beautiful, volumized hair! Not. I had to style my hair after applying the product, and as one who's never been very good at styling my own hair, that was quite a challenge. I eventually succeeded, and I did end up with a great looking hair-do.
Overall, I'd give this product an 8.5/10. The 1.5 I took off is mainly because of price. The small bottle retails for about $23.50, which, to someone who is cheap like me, is quite a sum of money to be spending on a small bottle of hair product. So, alas I probably won't be repurchasing this product anytime soon (unless I am aided by a great coupon such as the $5 off one included in my Vox Box or gift card), but I'll happily use the bottle I received for as long as it lasts!
